Gas tank question

I have a 2018 Tracker Heritage 40 with 2 plastic 6 gallon gas tanks. Am I supposed to leave vent in gas cap open all the time or should they be closed when not in use.?? Thanks

I would vent them for a few reasons. 1. When they aren’t vented, in high heat they will bloat and create a ton of pressure inside the can. When this is released, it either goes out the vent or into the hose. 2. It allows the gas to breath, reducing possibility of condensation.
