    Depth offset question

Need some help. Lake level says 3 ft below full pool so i set offset to -3 I then set my shallow water highlight to 5. Heres where my problem came about. I launch my boat at a shallow ramp as im sitting in 4ft of water my gps shows it to be no water in that area. What is the best way to correct this so ill have a accurate reading

    Thanks

Adjust your level offset until your map matches the depth that your sonar is showing for the spot you're sitting on. Easier to do on a broad flat rather than an area with rapidly changing depth.

Depth Offset is used to add the distance the transducer is submerged so the depth readout is the actual water depth instead of the distance between the transducer and bottom. That is all you use that for with Lakemaster.

Water Level Offset changes the contours to the current water level. Using that, if the water is down 5', you offset -5' and the 5' contour line becomes the shoreline. The 10' contour would be the 5' depth contour then. Basically it redraws the map contours.
If you don't know what the actual normal pool depth is to offset from, just position your boat above a contour line and adjust the Water Level Offset so the contour line matches the Depth Readout.

Shallow Water Highlight in RED is used to notify you when approaching water that is that deep or less and patterning spawning fish.

Then there is Depth Highlight. That is GREEN highlighting a selected depth and depths deeper and shallower (Range) to help you pattern all over the lake. Example if you pattern fish at 15', you would set the Depth Highlight at 15' and then select how wide you want that Green highlight to be. 2' would highlight 13' to 17'

All of that only works with HD maps of Lakemaster, Auto Chart, and Auto Chart Live.

For depth offset I position the boat over a hard bottom at 20 feet or so and drop a line down to hit bottom directly over the transducer. Then measure that actual depth and set the offset to match. Should only need to do this once or when you move the transducer or reset defaults.

Go to the Setup menu and Sonar tab.
Select Transducer Setting and a Transducer Setup menu will display.
Scroll down to the bottom of that menu and it is below Max Depth.
