    Fortrex repair question

I have a 112 36 volt vortex and the head of the trolling motor is loose where the bottom of the head attaches to the shaft. I tried replacement screws but they would not tighten either. Anyone know what part is needed to repair? Thanks for any help.

Make sure the bottom of the head is not cracked. if the original screws would not get tight then the screw ho;es are stripped

The bottom of the head is not cracked. I’m pretty certain that the holes are stripped.

Get you some self tapping screws in one or two sizes bigger. The put some in weld marine on treads and screw back in this will help to keep them tight

If you have more than one hole that is stripped then you should get as suggested above. Make sure you keep the old screws so that you can adjust the new ones to the same length. There is one extra hole that you could use, but the other 2 would have to have larger screws.
