So it's raining pretty bad here and I planned on fishing soon but wanted to fish a little deep in 15 plus but I'm thinking now that wouldn't be a good Idea with all this rain. What would be a good game plan? Any good guiding articles on this matter?

Go out deep like you originally planned. It’s dead of summer. Those fish are out there deep rain or shine.
I have had some great fishing right after a storm. Fishing deep, with soft plastic. Every time it's been a soft pick up. But come sundown, the bite is a solid one.
If the lake is high, flooded bushes. Also areas with an inflow can be attractive dining opportunities.

This. At least where I fish, it takes more than a storm to move the shad shallow. Find the big shad schools, find the bass, and in July, that's gonna mean deep. On the plus side, sometimes a rain can mean more water released from the dam, which will mean more current, and better fishing.
Find the bait find the fish, start deep and work your way in, if the bait are scattered fish

Fishing a lake or a river ?
After a storm or heavy rain
its a low pressure or cold front
I’d fish deep like you planned
but fish DS with small baits.
Fishing a lake. I was worried about watery clarity should I not use baits like football jigs/soft swimbaits? And just use colorful crankbaits.
Generally speaking, if one end of the lake has streams that are flowing, (and muddying the water) the clearer water will be on the dam end.
