    Water pump replacement

I’ve done the HPDI and few times before and the bitch has always been holding up the lower unit while trying to a line the spline. Doing this by yourself is a PITA. Yesterday I bought a ratchet strap. Attached the rubber coated hooks to the lower cowling on each side. Lifted lower end into place and used the strap to hold the unit up while making adjustments until the shaft popped into place. Then used the strap to hold unit until I could get a bolt started. Whew! The strap made the experience much better and easier on my 60yr old arms. I thought I would pass on the info for those that struggle like myself to get things aligned.

I just have someone bump the starter with the kill switch pulled.
Usually slides right in. But have use your strap method before if no one around to help.
