Stupid question time

Sorry if this is a dumb question but I hear a chime every so often and I'm not sure if it's my helix or something else

Could be the fish alarm.

An alarm of one type or another. Go into your sonar screen and check your alarms. Turn off the ones you don't want on.

Thanks guys I guess they are on from factory presets because I didn't turn them on it's a new unit

FishID and the alarm are not Default settings.

More of a beep than a chime.

Play the Simulator and turn on FishID and then the Alarm and you will hear what it does.
