I feel the same way. I feel more in touch with the car, and shifting gears on a sports car is a big part of the fun of the driving experience. I just look at it this way....10 years from now, we can all leave the keys in our stick shift mustangs and vintage 2019 Corvettes because nobody will be able to steal them.

I know automatics are way more convenient and faster in every type of racing performance testing. Honestly though, I'm a redneck, and every now and then when I take off, I like popping the clutch, smoking the tires, and grabbing second gear, then barking third while my wife smiles and shakes her head at me in the passenger seat. You just can't do that in an automatic.

can do it extremely easily with the dual clutch flappy paddles, and the shifts are way quicker than you can ever do manually.

There is a lot to be said about the joys of properly downshifting a manual while starting to brake into a corner in a nice sportscar. You cannot do that in that thing.

I've seen proper race bikes at a few road courses...those dudes have tungsten balls for sure

Motocross doesn't impress me at all, but those dudes that just skip dragging their knee and go right to scrapping their elbows on the tarmac have all of my respect and I say they are straight crazy as a shit house rat...fun to watch though
