Med. Or med. Light action spinning rod for finesse

Like the title states I am racking my brain trying to decide which action I would prefer for finesse techniques like the turd(ned), Neko, wacky rig, and maybe drop shotting. I currently drop shot with a medium action rod but to me it feels a tad stiffer more like a MH. I just can't get used to a rod with such a whippy tip. I feel like even with light wire hooks I can't set the hook. Finesse gurus please help.

I'm the opposite....I use med hvy rods and a loose drag...anytime I'm using light wire hooks......I've seen the ned rig bring in some astonishing catches on 8-10 lb flouro leader biggest was a 25 lb blue cat.....

I'd agree with Bass hole 51, except that there is so much variation between rod makers it just isn't likely to work for all brands. For instance, my Ned Rig rod is an old Quantum Energy 6'6" Medium that is pretty darned light, more like a ML. My most recent rod acquisition is a Lew's 7' Medium spinning rod that is more like a MH.

In years gone by, I've fallen in love with some rods in the store and then found that I didn't really like them for what I intended. But mostly found a use for them at which they excelled and became one of those rods that I just love and wish I could buy three more of them...but some years after they were discontinued. FWIW.
Don't bother me, I'm screwing for virginity.

I just bought an FX Customs ML 6-6 rod fishing light Slider worms. Had always used a M for this in the past but just felt like I was overpowering the bait.

Really like the Lew's Speed sticks lately. There spinning rods have a great action with fast or extrafast tip. They fish like a power heavier with just the bait but when you set the hook the backbone has a nice soft parabolic action to it. So great gives you a lot fell for your bait as the tip stays very stiff with just the bait and yet once hooked gives you a lot rod action to play the fish with and keep your rod loaded so they cant throw the hook and also gives smoothly on a hard pull when they are close to the boat.

I like a medium. I would like a medium light better for ned rigs, but for a wacky rig senko and shakey head it’s too light for me. I just want a one stop spinning rod so the happy middle ground is a medium action.

Check out some rods that feel comfortable to you. Many manufacturers ratings vary. One brand ml may feel like the next companies medium. Just a thought
