How do those remote drain plugs work? I've heard good and bad about them. It sure would be nice not crawling clear under the Triton to put the plug in.

Works great on my Ranger. You just have to put oil (cooking) or electrical grade silicone on it every couple of months.

Pardon my ignorance but the cooking oil is used to lube the plug going in and out? Thanks fellas.

Yes. I use lithium grease. But anything will work... Not vaseline tho. I tried it and it got gummy.

There was a factory installed one on my previous boat, and it sure was handy. But to be honest, I never take my drain plug out of my triton so I probably won’t do the modification. I might take the drain plug out once or twice a year that’s about it. If you’re in a situation where you remove the plug on a regular basis, I would definitely do it.
