Exclamation Mark Croxton Cavitation Ring Help

Has anyone else had trouble getting the ring on the prop? The ring seems too small for the hub of the prop. I have tried a hammer and block of wood but it just wont slide on. Or does anyone have any tips?

On one side of the ring has a slight bevel to help get it started. You should be able to beat it on with a block of wood, flat on the lab seal. Some props have a different size lab seal, Maybe this is the issue. The Promax is one.

The prop is a Trophy Plus. Maybe I’m not hitting it hard enough. Just don’t want to break anything.

I think maybe it was a bad batch. I tried a a sledge hammer (very carefully) and still could not get it on there.

I doubt it's a bad batch. Call and see if anyone else has had any trouble. I guess it is possible since they are man made.

I just talked to Mark and he said to heat the Cav ring in the oven at 400 for 3-5 minutes then install. Yesterday I tried letting it sit in boiling water but it probably wasn't hot enough.

Heat the ring up a bit? Put the prop in the freezer.

Well I tried everything and could not get that ring on. I have a buddy with a 20ton press that we ended up using. It got the ring on the prop no problem but it stretched the ring so much that it wouldn't fit in the gear case after. I ended up having to grind it down. I assume it was the wrong ring for the prop but it works now.

No but it is what it is. I'm up in Canada and shipping is not cheap or fast so I had to make it work.
