    Close call last night

Fished an evening tournament yesterday from 5:00-8:15, loaded up and headed home as usual. Did have some debris on the winding road back to the highway from the thunderstorm that came through around 6:00 and took our time to make sure we didn’t hit anything. Got home backed in the driveway and went to unhook and noticed the jack was too tall and trailer was sitting lower than normal. Well I’m glad I have a tandem trailer and have no clue where my wheel is. Never heard anything or felt anything. I even drove home with the windows down. Only 15-20 minutes away from the house and nothing over 45 MPH. Had everything checked earlier this spring when serviced. Now I have to find a hub. Debating on going back vault or standard grease.

Make sure you go to church on Sunday and thank the Lord that everything else was OK.

Wow !!!! was this an oil bath hub? Wonder what caused that to happen? That's worrisome..................Glad you didn't have any additional damage and no issues with losing control of your boat trailer when this happened (and also that the wheel didn't hit someone else).

Looks like somebody didn't check things very good back in the spring when they were supposed to.

I replaced all the oil bath hubs over to standard grease this spring for this exact reason! Easy to do and I just feel better having grease in there...

I’d say from the colour of that grease your problem started awhile ago, I would have all your bearings redone after the repair
