    boat storage unit

I've been debating on building an addition to my garage or just getting a storage unit. For those of you that have a unit to store a 20' bassboat what is your monthly rental? I have the money to add the garage, but then I don't have the cash to buy a boat. lol

Build the largest garage you can especially if you plan on staying at the same place a long time. After a while you would save in the long run by not renting. I’m looking at similar situation and would rather have boat at home instead of going to get it when I want it.

I should have built mine 5’ Deeper. Like most I thought it was big enough when I built it. If it was only 5’ deeper, I could park two vehicles deep, making it a 6 car garage and still have room for the bench and tools. Probably would have only cost another $1K to do that.

shoot, for 50-80$ a month I may just go that route. I need to call around and see. Nobody seems to advertise the price of storage units around here. I was assuming a 12X30 would be around 150 a month.

I need to stop reading this post, typical Illinois fashion everything is stupid expensive. There is really only place by me that has this type of storage 15 by 40 for $350 a month.

try an amish structure like amish bacyard structures I purchased one for 7000 and its a 14x30. I just need something to store the boat in since I just had it restored. I am done with storing my boat outside and even though I had it covered the toll was still taken on the gelcoat and seats and rug. It looks like you will save that money in just a year or two at a storage unit. It may not be a 20x40 but I will buy one of those when I pay off my house in four years. For now I wish to cash flow it and not go into debt. Just a thought hope it helps.

A lot of these guys must be living on undesirable or underpriced areas. We own (partnership) a 145 unit complex in AZ... You aren't getting anything under close to 200 for a boat, and with that you aren't getting power.
