    USA travel covers Champ

I have been told not to trailer my Champ with the cover on but how do you keep road trash out of your boat.
My 190 dcx is in really good shape and I don't like dirt etc. all over the inside but I don't want the cover buffing or scratching the hull?
Suggestions / ideas are welcome and than you.

I've seen guys take shipping stretch wrap and make a couple of wraps around the top cap to keep the cover from buffing the gel.

Covers are for stowing not towing.

Even the top of the line Deans and Aurora will still scrub the cap hurling down the highway. They work better if you don't have seats and windshields, less room to flap around, but I never towed mine with the cover, it's a trade off, but I'd rather have a dirty boat than a worn boat.

There's 2 sides to every story. I have my cover from Aurora. Fits like a glove. 5 Years and no scuffs or wear marks. BTW, it keeps the boat clean too.

No cover towing unless it’s going to dump buckets

Bottom line is its YOUR rig folks. Do what you think you need to do. I'm not expert in the matter but I can tell you that I've seen the BEST travel covers money can buy fail for one reason or another and cause gel damage. Road grim and tire rubber specks can be cleaned off with a handful of quarters at the car wash. Gel repair is gonna start at about $500.

You can get it at Home Depot or Staples... I do it every time I put my Aurora travel cover on, two trips around the boat, I'll use packing tape in a few strategic spots to keep the plastic wrap from tearing apart... I've done it this way for the last 15+ years and have never, ever had a problem... Dan
