GM always wanted a 50/50 weight distribution for the Vette. My C5 had balsa floor boards to achieve that goal. Of course it didn't work but it was an effort.
This goal has been the Holy Grail and now its possibly going to happen.

50/50 cars are a riot to drive, if you don't think so find a Miata with a six speed. I know it's not a Vette! I can drive my pickup a block over and grab the keys to a 2011 convertible Grand Sport any time I want. I think it has a whopping 20,000 miles on it now. Vette's are another kind of ride. I think making it mid engine is going to draw a different kind of buyer. Time will tell if GM makes the right move...I hope so for their sake. I don't think dropping the Camaro was a good move.
