I've told you twice you pull the hitch pin and push the rod to the left it will free the shift rod pin. You don't unbolt anything. Do you think I make this stuff up??

What did ChampioNman say? You can only push it one way, shift it into forward gear just a little, that helps.

Fred must be wrong he's probably done about 3 or 4 60 degree motor water pumps. What do the FB mechanic say?

What is the left and right side of the motor? May I suggest that you remain on the many other sites that you ask the same questions, and stay off of this one!

You can't be this dumb! You move the shaft to the left side of the motor! It may be to your right depending on how you are standing, but it's to the left side of the motor. Your question was stupid anyway it will only move one way! ChampioNman was correct, and you should apologize and then shut the "F" up.

It is quite simple and I'm sorry to have confused you on your motor I always work on the starboard side when working on the linkages. It appears you are working on it from the front side which is fine. Now to answer your question. I've circled and drawn arrows to aide you. Shift the motor to forward (yellow arrow) on top of the shift lever (orange blob) remove the cotter pin that connects the plastic link to the shift lever (orange blob). In your picture remove the hitch pin circled in red and push the lever and rod to the right blue arrow. The manual says towards the power head so when we work from the side of the motor that is pushing to the left. The shift pin in is built into the shift rod lever (brown) by pushing it to the side it will separate the pin from the retainer(yellow), the shift shaft and pin are circled in blue.
