Why do Skeeters sit so high on trailers?

Out of curiosity, why do Skeeters sit so high on the trailer?

I’d guess because they are flat and wide. In order to clear the cross beams and axles, the bunks are up a little higher.

My 2012 ZX190 sat about 3-4 inches lower than my 2018 ZX250. The motor barely fits under the garage door. At first I banged my head on the ceiling and garage door. After seeing stars a few times I learned to duck on deck.

They are noticeably higher than all other brands. Before my last tournament I was parked next to a Ranger Z21, Z520 and a Phoenix 920PHX and mine was a good bit higher.

when I re-bunked my 21i trailer w/ a true 2x4 cypress, it sat higher for sure and I liked it. it actually made it easier to load, not that I ever had problems with that or anything
