I have an HDS 8 up front and noticed the button on the bottom of unit lost the rubber pad that goes on it , found it on the floor but it will not stay on so for now I put a piece of tape over it and it still works. What do you recommend for a permanent fix ? can I glue it on or will that affect how it works or short things out ?

The rubber keypad buttons should be installed behind the bezel, is your bezel broken?

no does not look broken no cracks or anythingt at all around that key pad ?
If you remove the bezel, you will see there is a rubber molded strip that has covers for each button. This is a 1 piece strip. Look at your user's manual to see how to remove the bezel.
so your telling me I need a new strip where can I order that if possible ?
New strip is likely unless you can patch the one you have. I don't know where you can order one. Maybe you could find someone with a non working 8 that would sell.
I think I've got one at home from my old HDS 8 that quit working on me.
