Nice job Doug. Did you use a break for your bends or some other method? Nice sharp bends.

Bending the plate was a real PITA. Shop I got the plate stock from said they did not have a break strong enough to bend it. Tried heating and using 2 steel angles to bend it but no go. Ended up cutting a score line about 50% through but was still hard to bend.

    Nice job
I'm sure that didn't form easy without a brake.

For not having brake that’s darned impressive! I’m curious to see if you notice any difference?

Have not been on the water yet. I was 114 degrees here yesterday, 90 at 5AM. Sure was hot working in the shop and on the boat the last 3 days. I'll post once I have the boat out. With 4 group 31s, a full tank of gas and a full live well I'm pushing 900 lbs in the rear.

Can you adjust your jack plate with that attached?

This is a setback plate mounted to a CMC manual jack plate. Little odd but that is how the boat came. Gets the job done but gave me more resistance. If I needed to adjust it, I would have to remove and adjust the hole shot plate but don't anticipate that. Think I will fill the small triangle gaps created between the hole shot plate the jack plate and the set back plate (second and third to last pics).

What will that do, stop the water from coming up through and flooding the back?

This should 1) reduce drag at the start of the launch and improve hole shot and 2) reduce back wash water when coming off of plane.

Well done! What was the reasoning for using such thick aluminum? It’s not a structural piece or a bash plate so seems a thinner piece would have been much easier to work with.

I have seen posts where people spoke about thin plates bending or deforming with the water pressure and I always tend to over engineer. Almost went with 1/4" but I stepped it back a notch. My drink holders on my seats are 1/8" aluminum plate with a 1/4" steel brace bar... more is better
