I run AMSOIL, but I also run Ringfree. I’m on a lot of no wake lakes, without Ringfree, the sniffer tube ( OX66) gets carbon pretty bad.

is this more for Ethanol unleaded gas? or even with Non oxy gas? I usually pump non oxy and never had an issue starting up my motors. But for the price of Non-oxy gas, I may end up getting Yamaha ring free and just using regular unleaded gas.

Ethanol gas and ring free is what I used since 1989. Never an issue.

I use the AMSOIL HP oil now since last summer. I think the motor runs nicer and plugs are cleaner. Have been using seafoam for 10 yrs with EVERY gallon of gas in my boats, my Vmax150 was spotless inside when I removed the heads and divider plate to be modded.

I just pour it in, never measure the amount....half a can to half a tank of gas sorta thing! LOL

    Thanks for the advice
Yes every time I add fuel and always 93 octane

Well, call it witches brew or a waste of money but I can tell you first hand what happens to my outboard.

225 VMax OX66, AMSOIL user last 16 years. Ring free every tank——- What happens on my Yamaha is the O2 sensor and the sniffer tube get carbon build up—- bad. With ring free the carbon is just an oil like substance that wipes off. At the end of every season I check the O2 sensor, clean that and the sniffer tube. I have never ran moonshine gas in my boat.

If you don’t believe it works, by all means don’t use it. It is penny’s a tankful, I KNOW it works in my Yamaha, your results may differ

Where do you source the AMSOIL oil, locally or ordering?

I buy mine from a dist. In town that signed me up years ago. When AMSOIL sends me an email that tells me it is free shipping over $100, I just order on line and save the shipping. My bud still gets his credit for the sale and I build my points up.

I don’t sell it Mike, but I get my discount because I am signed up as a distributor. And when I receive the email about free shipping, that is when I get my years supply. About 18 qts of vehicle oil, couple qts of 4 stroke oil for ZRT, outboard oil, 2 stroke oil for lawn equipment, silicone spray, MP, Mudslinger. Saves probably $35 on shipping cost

Thanks gents. I have a friend that runs an automotive repair shop, I think I've seen Amsoil stuff around his place, I'll have to check with him, maybe he could be a source for it too.

Stabil is great for the fuel system. Besides the fuel you need to keep carbon out of the block as much as possible. Excessive Carbon buildup can lead to engine failure..

I'll stay with yamalube and ring free. Yes, it's dirty, the additives are what keeps things going. The ring free takes care of that. Plugs are cheaper than a powerhead. Talk to the high performance guys and see what they tell you. Hpdi with phase kits, 300x motors, most of the guys I know won't run any oil other than yamalube. 755 hours and if I hadn't had a problem with water in my bottom 2 cylinders there's no doubt it would still as strong as ever.

Ran ring free in my first powerhead.
    It didnt last very long.
Dont bother with the new powerhead.

Figure I'll get another 1 or 2 powerheads before the warranty runs out.

    They SHO are disposable.
