    Solix 12 Water Temp

Asking for a friend: He has a Solix 10 on the bow connected to a US2 transducer on his TM. He has a Solix 12 on the console. Not sure what transducer it is connected to, other than it is a Side Scan transducer. The boat is a 2019 Skeeter FX, so it will be the standard transducer arrangement that Skeeter installs.

His problem is he can only get water temp on his console unit if the bow unit is turned on. I am not a HB guy, but this tells me he needs to properly set the source for water temp on his console unit. If that is correct, how does he go about that? If not, what advice can you offer?

The unit's get temp from the transducer that it connected to them by default and do not get it from any other source unless the operator selects to get temp from another source. Evidently he or someone has chosen the bow unit as the temp source for the console unit.
OR the unit may select another source IF the temp sensor is not connected or faulty--don't know for sure since I haven't had a failed temp sensor in a SI transducer.

The proper installation for that hull should have a Y cable connected to the console display and two transducers connected to it. One of the transducers would be the SI transducer attached to the transom and the other would be a shoot-thru 2D in the bilge. That Y cable may be faulty preventing the temp sensor connection. He can find that out but removing the Y cable and just connect the SI transducer to the display.

In the Setup menu Network setting/Temp 1, Temp 2, etc, default for each is Auto-Configure.

Thanks Wayne. He thinks he may have it figured out as one of his settings was Global.
