98 Stratos 201 225 Johnson 26p raker set up.

I have run a 25 renegade for years and it would run high 60's at 5800 rpm at 3" ptp. I got into some gravel and messed it up and going to send it to get fixed etc. I got a 26p original raker that looks new. Put it on boat would run 61 at 5900 rpm. Dropped the motor to 3.5" and it is running 63 at 5800 rpm. Think it needs to go deeper. My boat usually like them high but I am struggling with this prop. I figured if the motor is turning the rpms with it that I would get more speed than this..

90% of all Rakers I've ever seen needed work done to them before they acted right.

As your results show, that's a bunch of prop slip, I'll wager the lift sucks too.

I have not run a Raker since 95 but even then they occasionally needed to be tuned. My 93 was better cupped than my 95. The 93 201 was a Dual console and the 95 was a Pro deck but there was a significant difference in the motor and prop performance between them. Easily 10 mph. The 95 could not deleiver the bow lift which kept the hull dragging water while the 93 could lift the bow to a point you couln't see over it. It is fun remembering the fun we had back in the day.

Anyway, to get the old 201 to run, you need to really air out the hull. Lots of bow lift which takes power and cup and hookup!

93 201/200XP but might have had the 225 carbs. 26 Raker 1 turning 6300 rpms.
