    Mid 2000's Direct Injection motors

I am looking to buy a new to me mid to late 2000's boat. I have always had mercs and I am not familiar with Evinrudes at all. Are the mid to late 2000's DI motors good?
Are parts readily available for them?
Any other thoughts on them is most appreciated!!

Yes, those are good motors. And Evinrude has always maintained parts availability at least as well [perhaps better than] any other outboard manufacturer. The direct injection engines are also very strong, but they do like fuel better than the latest Evinrudes. Comparable to other engines of that era, however, and some of that era are extremely thirsty!

Get the engine history & hours read out by an Evinrude dealer pre-purchase, can also check it against any service bulletins. I run a ‘98 version - with all the updates - and it has been flawless. Advise you run their XD100 oil.

2001 and up are BRP engines. 2001-2004 DFI engines, 2005 started the ETEC G1 series.
