I was 22 and my wife and I were over at my folks place watching it with them.
It was huge news here in Canada too.
I was 15. Two of my freinds slept over that night as we were lucky enough to have a color tv. My mom, dad and grandmother all stayed up to watch it live ( I remember it was very late). I was a space nut and loved every minute. I used to stay up late to view Sputnik or whatever satellite you could see in the night sky. Our local paper used to publish viewing times and where to look to see the satellites moving across the night sky. The Vietnam war had the country divided and the space program was a tremendous sense of national pride.

I was 11. That day we were helping an aunt move into their new house. I remember quite well that the first thing my dad and uncle did was bring in the TV and hook it up to the antenna. It took a long time to get everything done because we would stop and watch the coverage. It was so darned cool. I've been watching a lot of the stuff on Nat Geo and the Smithsonian channel of the Apollo missions and especially Apollo 11 .... brings back a lot of great memories and a lot of pride.
haven't seen anyone posting they were moved to Canada yet.
I was 25 and finishing a interview for a job with the news media once I received my discharge from the military two weeks later.

I was 18...would be 19 in a couple of weeks. Sometime during that night a guy from Michigan, who's name I can't remember, roused me out of my bottom bunk in the old metal "Tin City" barracks at Andersen Air Force Base in Guam. We snuck into the single men's NCO barracks Day Room and got a terrible picture on the ancient console television in the corner, and did our best to watch our guys land on the moon. We didn't get much news over there but we got that story.
Don't worry Ma'am....
I'm only here for the Bass.
I was one day old.

I remember it like it was yesterday. I was 7 years old watching the events unfold on a black and white TV. I remember going outside at night looking up at the moon trying to see those guys. The world was a lot bigger then, wish I could go back .....
2 month 20 days. Don’t really remember what I was doing.
