    Stupid (maybe) carpet install question

What's the best way to handle the hole for the pedestal seats? Do you lay the carpet with adhesive then cut around the brass base?

Lay carpet over and burn them in with a soldering iron. If you want the brass exposed you can cut around the edge with a carpet knife and clean the residue off of the the brass with acetone. Either way, hole comes after you lay carpet.

Make sure when using the soldering that you are in a well ventilated area. It releases gas and is not good to breath..
