    It must have rained buckets.....

Fished a tourney on newfound today and from those bad rain storms last week the lake was all messed up. The upper end of the lake was so silted up you couldn't see a ft deep in the water and the river dumping out of the lake was like class 4 Rapids. The water was 81 and everyone only caught fish shallow. Luckily we still caught fish but I had to pretty much throw every strategy and technique I've normally used there out the window just to get a bite...

6" is what we got. It was enough to screw up a lot of stuff.

Still ended up getting a limit of 4, our club rules. About 10.5 lbs. I figured fish would be deep but I now realize that the water clarity is probably what pushed fish shallow. You had to drop it in their face to get bit. On a high note I now am way more familiar with a whole lot more of the lake.

We sure did get alot of rain.
Doesn't seem to be keeping anyone off the water. Every place we went to launch yesterday was packed.
I went to fish Nubanusit but there was like 10 cars unloading kayaks.
We ended up at a small pond in Hillsborough. Nice and quiet and the fishing was awesome.
Been a while since I had a good day like that.
    The jig bite was on.
