‘99 200L slipping gears
Good afternoon everyone. I have a 99 mercury 200L that my last time out seems to have been slipping out of gear while at lower speeds. Going back to neutral then shifting fast/ hard into gear seems to work better. I also noticed it would sip once at lower speeds getting up full speed/ throttle but fine after that.
I didn’t want to risk further damage to the lower unit so haven’t been out since, but lower unit fluid looks fine. I believe the gear shifter cable just needs to tightened up, but wanted to double check for pointers ahead of time
