Has anyone found a pull cord routing that doesn’t eventually destroy the cable connector?

lube it with a little soap and work it back into the hole. Not the first one I have heard of doing that. Keep the pull cord away from there

Why the orange flagging on the motor? I have seen a few other pics on here with it as well.

When deploying TM, I'll move the cord/cable to the outside/opposite side of the coil so I don't catch it and pull it out like above....so far so good, no problems.

Usually indicates that one is fishing in a tournament.

That is tied on the TM the morning of a tourney and denotes that someone has checked that boats livewells...

Thanks guys. Interesting as I’ve never had that done on tourneys around here. Granted I haven’t fished any in a long time but see guys on tourney days here that don’t have that. Makes sense though.

There's a screw that holds the cover (or it may be a push in that you pop up with a flat head screw driver) either way, that cover comes out, for that wire. Remove it and the cover, insert the wire holder back into the slot in the cover and replace the cover. No biggie !!

Mine did the same thing. Fixed it in about 5 mins. Take the hourglass piece off the top. Its just a cover. Move the wire out of the way and there will be 2 phillips screws under the wire. Remove those 2 screws. The cover will come off. You will see 2 more screws that hold the cover on. Take those off. Now the cover will slide back over the cable cover and you can reinstall the cord.

YES, that's it. Couldn't remember just how it went, but knew it was a simple fix

I have a series of zip ties around that so it doesnt come out any more ever. They are black and nobody notices it.

I have been using the pull cord to unlock then using the stabilizer to pull the motor up and deploy. Wondered about that connector.

Route the pull cord to the outside of the motor. It still works just fine and never hits that piece. Once it's at the top of deploying or stowing you can just let it come back for a straight pull to lower it or loop it back around for stowing it. It's easy to do but may be harder to explain
