anyone if there's an easy fix for a non working fuel gauge ?
Things to check:
Verify that all ground wires at the cranking battery are connected. One of the ground wires fell out of view when I replaced my battery this year and the gas gauge stopped working. Found the wire and connected.
Verify power to the fuel tank sending unit. There are videos online showing how to troubleshoot sending units.
Gauge might be bad.
If you have a Mercury motor that is SmartCraft enabled, a level 1 MercMonitor will show fuel used. My gas gauge works, but I used the "fuel used" from the MercMonitor to determine how much Mercury additives to add before going to the gas station. Fuel used and the amount to fill my tank are usually within 0.1 gallons.
