I know you can get the new Echomap Ultra units with the GT54 UHD transducer, is this the best transducer for this unit? I know there has been some discussion on here about this. I have a tin boat and don't necessarily want to try and use a through hull transducer and transom transducer combo unless it will give me noticeably better side images. Any and all thoughts and opinions appreciated.

I dont know that theres another 3 in 1 option but this thread may help. You dont need a thru hull just a separate 2d ducer for the gt34.

Thanks, there are so many transducers it's confusing. What is another 3 in 1 transducer that is not UHD that can be used on an echomap ultra unit that will give me good side images?
Read that link, but from what i have read the gt34 is the best but is limited to about 35ft of depth

What is the physical size of the 34UHD vs 54UHD? The picture looks as if the 54 is a shorter transducer..

Yeah, the gt50 is a really good transducer. Fantastic sidevu range. Not as clear as uhd in shallower water, but much better than the cv52 it replaced.

The GT54UHD is almost identical in size to the GT52. 52 is 6.1x2.0x1.0
The GT34UHD is 7.8x1.5x0.9
