I doubt it matters, unless you have a boarding ladder on port side. On my RT188 one came factory mounted starboard. No idea why Ranger only allows starboard side on single installs. Would be easier to see when looking back prior to gassing it if it were port imo, though I’ve gotten used to it.

Personal preference. I have mine installed on port.
