    2001 yamaha T50TLRA voltage question

I have a 2001 T50TLRA 4 stroke. When the motor is running, the highest the voltage gets at the battery is about 12.5v. Should it be in the high 13's or 14v's?

When I have the navigation lights, radio and sonar on, the voltage dips to low 10's.

    Thanks in advance!

The voltage should be at or about 14.5 volts when the motor is running. Could be higher. Not lower.

Make sure the battery is fully charged. Clean and tighten all of the battery cable connections at both ends. Using a good multi-meter test at the battery terminals.

Would not hurt to disconnect and reconnect the connectors between the lighting coil (stator) and the rectifier/regulator and the connectors (and fuse) between the rectifier/regulator and the battery. Also the R/R ground. Motor is 18 years young. Plenty of time for corrosion to build up.
