Is there a performance difference from a 6in to a 10in plate? What are the pros and cons with a larger set back? Why did some of the newer Gamblers come with 10in plates?

    no...
all you will notice is more avaliable bow lift when trimming...
if you went from the 6" to like 15" you may could start some lower slip numbers, but its not worth the change

pluse you actually have 8" of set back off the transom now...
you have a 2" spacer that most guys with the 10" + don't have...

Intimidators from the factory had 6" jackplate with 2" spacers
    2100 had 10" jackplate
    2200 had 10" jackplate and 2" spacers.
