    Power Poles Pro Series II

Looking to possibly add a pair of these on my 1710 Sportsman but have a question. Does the poles interfere with the casting for the person in the back of the boat?

Yes... once they backlash a couple times or bust a crankbait on the pole they will start remembering they are back there and the it'll stop.

I think I have decided to go with one pole to start with mounted on the port side. I fish by myself 75% of the time and rest the is with a right handed caster so a single pole on the port side won't be so bad. If I decide to go with another pole later on the co will just have to get use to it like you said.

I have mine mounted on the port side also. I would like to add a 2nd pole but haven't talked myself into it yet.

Have you had many problems with the boat staying in place or "spinning" with just a single pole?

If there's much wind it will spin. staying in place has not been a problem.

I haven’t had a problem fishing out of other people’s boats with poles, but yeah you do have to pay attention! I had one port side and had no real issue with the boat spinning unless the wind was bad.

    Hello Guys,

Would you Guys consider a Minn Kota Ulterra or Ultrex 80# 24V trolling motor with (spot lock)? For the following reason a lot less weight to the stern!!

Some added weight to the bow...

    Just a suggestion!

I don't know anything about either of these motors or the weight. I stay in shallow water when possible and have never had a need for anything like that yet.
