Giving out free needles isn't trying to correct a problem, it's the local leaders enabling them to do illicit drugs for some reason. The opioid problem is all over the world, but most places with common sense aren't helping the addicts like some of the places are doing. Most, if not all places that are "helping" are liberal ran cities that are looking for Gov't assistance for the addicts by way of programs to "help" them. They are more than likely pocketing money designed to really help the people in need, as usual.

I'm no where near the scholar or disciple that others are, but I always kinda figure the red words give me the context that I'm gonna read the rest through. Y'all can read it however you like though. We have the freedom to do that here, or not read it at all if you don't like black books (or if you like another one better) so I'm gonna side with Phoenix on his interpretation.

If you read all the red words and think he is talking to you, then you need to obey the full law. Thankfully that's not the case!

No, I don't think that drugs are the cause in all cases. Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't. The post you quoted was in response to RFeyoMN asking me why vets don't seek help. Someone with PTSD who starts "self-medicating" and goes down the rabbit hole is not in a position to make good decisions.

I have a dear friend that works with VETS to find homes, most say no they rather live on the streets close to where they have been staying on the street. Dont want free housing away from there friends.

Was at the airport today just browsing books and low and behold they had some fictional book about trying to save the country from bubonic plague that starts in San Francisco. The health consequences of this cannot be ignored because it will affect everyone. Cholera, Hepatitis, Typhoid. Definitely a compelling reason to get it sorted out just on the basis of human health risks.

Was someone in a position to make wise decisions before they stuck the first needle in their arm?

Not trying to start a fight, but at some point...most of these people made a clear minded, very bad decision. The fault is solely on that individual. I'm sure there are instances where an actual mental illness was the cause...not everyone is born right in the mind...but most of the "mental illness" is simply a result of being addicted to mind altering drugs. It is, in fact, their fault.

In Matthew, I believe, Christ tells us (paraphrasing) that the poor will always be with us... To me, not as a waiver for us to just chalk it up as an ‘Oh, well’ but as an admonishment that we are to care for those in need.

Nowhere in the ‘red words’ (or anywhere else that I’ve read), however, does it say that we should condone or be okay with policies and/or leaders which foster and enable an ever greater number of people to be dependent upon others for their survival...

    ...quite the opposite, in fact.

Situations like those in the video which are allowed to continue unchecked are helping no one.

Time to start holding the elected officials accountable and let law enforcement do their job.

Do ya think???? They don't call them loonie lefties for nothing. vote intelligently

Had an older teacher tell me. It's not not about the schools it's about the teachers and what they're teaching them.

Some where along the line we made a sharp left turn and it wasn't for the better. I think that was in 2008.

Here is my take on the current climate in our cities, and country. We now have hardcore socialist-communist in our local, state and national offices. There are even getting to the point, they do not hide this fact. It seems these people want their area, and nation....to fail...so that they can then "rebuild" it into a "worker's paradise"...where anything goes. Our universities are the training grounds now.

Look at that video clip....and the town hall meeting where residents are fed up. The mayor tells them, if you have a problem , call 911...and is even smirking at them when saying this. A woman tells him the police officers tell her to make sure and vote these people out, because they have orders...to do nothing. The mayor smiles even more....

Give the homeless, illegal immmigrants, and drug users a state of their own and let them have at it.
Any ideas on which state they should get, or do we just carve up Palestine? (Texas?)

I watched opening scenes and stopped. Looks like what I've seen in San Fran and Portland. So sad we can't figure this out. it is not all drug use at least from what I've experienced in the other cities.

"But when the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then he will sit on the throne of his glory. Before him all the nations will be gathered, and he will separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then the King will tell those on his right hand, ‘Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was hungry, and you gave me food to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me drink. I was a stranger, and you took me in. I was naked, and you clothed me. I was sick, and you visited me. I was in prison, and you came to me.’

“Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry, and feed you; or thirsty, and give you a drink? When did we see you as a stranger, and take you in; or naked, and clothe you? When did we see you sick, or in prison, and come to you?’

“The King will answer them, ‘Most certainly I tell you, because you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’ Then he will say also to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels; for I was hungry, and you didn’t give me food to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me no drink; I was a stranger, and you didn’t take me in; naked, and you didn’t clothe me; sick, and in prison, and you didn’t visit me.’

“Then they will also answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and didn’t help you?’

“Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Most certainly I tell you, because you didn’t do it to one of the least of these, you didn’t do it to me.’ These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

If mental Illness is the cause of all these problems we see today why didn’t we see these problems decades ago? People didn’t just start becoming mentally ill. Drug abuse and behavior that goes against the norms of society is encouraged in places like Seattle and this is the result. These progressives know that it is easier to control the people under these circumstances. A fully functional, self supporting person is harder to control and they know this. If anything, I would posit that concentrating people that live outside of what is acceptable in a civilized society is beneficial to the rest of us. Helping people when you can is always a good thing but not everyone wants help getting out of a situation. They would rather have help staying in it and these cities provide this.

Is Seattle helping them or hurting them by allowing this?

Ok so what’s your take on those quotes with this situation? Do you believe that enabling is a good thing at the expense of themselves and others? To just quote with no context of your thought does nothing surely you know that.
