2016 200 HO ETEC trim question

My outboard trimmed up all way on me at WOT yesterday, scared the crap out of me. Got it home and started troubleshooting. The outboard will trim up every few minutes then stop. It only does it when the power switch is on, making me think its either the switch at the bow or the blinker trim. I washed the boat last week and this was the first time on the water since. I used my pressure washer and am wondering if I ruined the switch on the bow panel. 04 Stratos 195 with 16 200 HO ETEC. thanks.

disconnect the bow switch first as those are normally installed by the rigger or boat company and are not always the best quality or have the best weatherproofing

Amazon has the rubber boots for the bow switches.....I try to keep a few on hand.....
