    Xd 8/10 on Cumberland

I’m new to deep crankin but have caught a few tickling deep tree tops - ya ll ever fish xd 8/10 in open water for suspending fish? I’ve always tried to hit something with cb but a lot of fish suspended here currently

To me, suspended fish are inactive, that's why everyone tries the drop shot, keep the bait in front of them as long as possible, irritate them into biting... Cranks are reaction baits, bang, clang and deflect to get bites... I maybe wrong, won't be the 100,000,000th time... Dan

Agree with Dan. I use crankbaits in dirtier water or those magical days on Cumberland. It would be hard for me to put down a swim bait for a crank bait this time of year. Just count it down to depth

Russ Lane did a video on this a few years back and caught some hammers. Dont forget about moving a spoon through fish like that, I've had some really nice smallmouth from the deep spoon pattern.
