Depth and current are part of what goes into choosing a flutter spoon. baitfish size and fish size as well . i know i live in East Tx and we dont have current like yall do but fishing as a boater and non boater in lots of different tournaments all over the 1/2 ounce is tough to beat on a calm day , light wind and current 3/4 ounce but when the big Gizzard shad are present then its the Magnum flutter spoon. hope this helps and good luck .

Spoons big baits here. Watson's big flutter spoon good around deep docks. It is a 1oz spoon. Also use the Dixie Jet on schooling fish. Usually 1/2-3/4 and the slab spoons we use are most of the time 3/4.
