Lake Malone
Anybody fish Lake Malone lately? Spending Monday and Tuesday on the lake and hoping to catch some bass. Only been once and didn't have much luck, thinking about trying it at night this time. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

To follow up, we fished last Monday morning and evening, Tuesday morning and evening, and Wednesday morning. Caught lots of short fish on a baby brush hog, ned rig and shaky head. Caught a couple on a jig also. Got on a shallow cranking bite Wednesday morning but it was getting hot so we hung it up after a handful of short fish. Had around 15 or so keepers (15") total for the trip with the biggest being shy of 3lbs and 40 or so short fish. The best bite was between 8am-11am both mornings and from 7pm-dark Tuesday night. Most bites came around grass or laydowns. Had a lot of fun and Malone is a beautiful little lake, it has just been tough to find bigger fish for us on our two July trips there. Saw several boats cranking walls but we never tried it as it would be a challenge with three of us in the boat.

We’ve been fishing Tuesday night tourneys and it’s been taking a 5 to 6 lb fish every night (1 fish big fish tourney). Ended up 2nd the last 3 weeks with a 4 lb fish. Right at dark is when it’s been on for us. Had a tourney down there Saturday 5 fish 3rd was 5lbs, 2nd was 6lbs, and 1st was 21 lbs!
