    Fine scratches

This boat is black! These scracthes are from wipe down. As stated they are very fine and not able to feel with finger nail. Im using a flex pe 8. Ive tried a couple products 3m 05928, 3m 6044, meguiars professional #2. Of the 3 the meguiars is a better product it does remove partially after a little effort. I am using wat i would call medium (green) and harder(orange) foam pads. Im looking for a better product! Any suggestions from you gel coat guys? The finish is not oxidized in no form. It is a 13 model and has been kept in a controlled climate garage. It also has had a regular coating of protec sealer. It is a basscat

If you don't mind a little work you could just use the Pro-Tec, or any of those mild abrasive swirl removers over and over until it's fixed. Key will be to know how you got the scratches. Is it your rag? On black cars - I've owned two - it's so easy to eff up the finish just washing with bad technique and bad products. Have to be careful about the microfiber too, I had to find the borderless towels to solve all my problems.

Not seeing at least pics I’ll give some info but all may not be applicable...least aggressive would be #1 3M a perfect it 2 applied with a yellow wool finishing pad #2 would be 3M Compound and Finishing Material on a wool pad. If the boat is black with no poly flake do the same but maybe replace pads with foam pads.

The bottle with the purple label is prolly what it’ll take. You may need to follow up with the Finesse It II....it this doesn’t work call me and I’ll tell you what will.

I called crank68 and talked with him. His knowledge was very useful. Even though the scratches are still vaguely there i am very pleased with what i have done so far. I kno after talking with him they will come completly out. Honestly im just not ready for that agressive action. A big thank you to crank! One other question for you. Do you reccomend putting a wax over the protec? And if so wat brand? You mention one during our phone conversation but my absence mind has forgotten

Thanks for the kind words.... call me anything. IMO Protec is all you need to use and as often as you would like to. Most any brand automotive/boat wax will work. I like Mothers products myself.
