Lots of variables without specific prop information. A typical diameter 3 blade will be about right. A large diameter 4 blade might be sluggish. There is more to props than just pitch. If we knew the style of prop we would know how many blades and could figure out diameter.

Example a 4 blade 26 pitch Bravo I XS and a 3 blade 26 pitch Tempest will be about 3-400 or more rpm different even though they are the same pitch. Another example...Renegade Bass props are 4 blade but small diameter. I bet a 27 Renegade bass would not be enough pitch for your combo even though its 1 pitch larger than a 26. Amount of blades and diameter play a factor as much as pitch...what specific 26 are you asking about?

    Good answer JR19,
however you are slacking just a bit. So he needs to figure in boat accessories as well such as 36 volt TM (4 batteries), Poles ?, Ultrex, etc.
How strong is the motor, Hydro JP? all this stuff will play a role. The OP should give us a starting point, IE, This is what I have, this is what it does, etc, etc!!

Tried it where the 25 4 blade was. It is a 26 raker. Boat is 3” prop to pad. 5900rpm and only 61mph. Dropped to 3.5” and turning 5800rpm and 63mph. Should be a little faster shouldn’t it?

So... I have a 99 201 pro elite with a johnson 225 HO and renegade 14.5 x 27p. Hole shot is SLOW and WOT will not go above 5200. GPS top speed is 59-60 with just me. More confused when I tried raising my motor. It's currently 4.25 below the pad. I raised it in 1/2" increments to 3. Each time my hole shot got worse, my WOT hit 5250 but speed actually went down. Looking for advice on where to start. I've been told that a Raker 23p is a good prop for this setup.

Yep, ditch the old Renegade and get a 25 Trophy or maybe 24 or the Bravo as Mactlman said. Use the #200 Michigan Wheel Hub kit. These suggested props are far better and have adjustable vent holes to fine tune your hole hole shot. Remember to start with a new prop so you know you are working/testing true. Just because a prop may look fine or good don't mean it is. Many prop shops just clean props up and don't actually put them back to spec.
