    Pirate Cove Resort Kentucky Lake

I posted this in the Kentucky forum as well.

Has anyone stayed at the Pirates Cove Resort in Hardin, KY? Just looking for some reviews. Looking for a place to stay with my wife and 2 kids. They live to swim and they have a pool and beach area.

How's the fishing in the Johnathon Creek area? I'll be bringing my boat for a week of fishing.

    Thanks

I live around the area and don't ever hear anyone talking about it. Trip Advisor has one review of it, from 2012.

The only pirate cove I know of is in the Leather Wood resort area.
Is that the one your talking about?
If so.........Thats a long run to where your talking about fishing.
Summer months are very busy there with lots of pleasure boaters at the ramp.
Campground is ok and the duplex cabins are dated but still ok.

Pirate’s Cove is actually a housing development on Jonathan Creek at Kentucky Lake. Mostly older homes, some not all that well maintained. I am not aware of an actual “Resort” there.

Depending upon when you plan to stay there, water could get pretty shallow as it is pretty far back in Jonathan Creek.

Jonathan Creek is over 10,000 acres by itself. It has lots of area to fish for about any species you want to fish for that is in Kentucky Lake.

They have RV spots and a pool.

I bet there are much nicer resorts on the lake. The lake front is going to be very shallow, even at summer pool, and there wont be anywhere to leave the boat in the water. I would consider Lynnhurst Family Resort near Murray, KY It has nice boat docks and it is located in deep water at the entrance to Blood River Bay. My daughters family recently stayed at Americas Paradise Resort. They had fun but are not boaters. This resort is located well back in a bay on Blood River and can get shallow fast as the summer drawdown begins.

If you end up at Pirates Cove, the Jonathan Creek Bridge will not be far. The spot is popular with all kinds of fishermen. Bass, panfish, and catfish can be caught.

Real shallow back there. Best to idle out a long ways before you try to get on plane. Winter time I think its to shallow to eve launch from there BUT I am not real sure

He speaks the truth. I remember once being taken on an on-plane fast ride from the bridge all the way to the mouth of Jonathan Creek where it was deep enough to set down. I don't recommend trying it.

We usually stay at America’s Paradise, which is 2 miles up from blood river. About 6-7 to Jonathon if memory serves, which it may not.
