I helped build a Yacht-o-minium for him in the late 80's, early 90's on the Detroit River.

Didn’t know him personally of course, but watched him through the years with success. Read a story about his devotion to family once. A good read. May he Rest In Peace.

He certainly turned Chrysler around back in the 1980's. The entire "K" car line up was his idea and we can thank him for the Mini Van concept.

He was a smart one for sure. RIP sir.

He didn't invent the minivan, I had the first V W transporter (1956) in the U.S. It was a minivan, just lacked a few things like heat, horsepower and air conditioning.

Now the Mustang, absolutely perfect timing.

He was all of the above. And he was also a tyrant at his job. Many other upper management "car guys" of those years were very demanding as bosses, etc.

Iacocca was chauffeured around in a Lincoln limo, and flew in a Gulfstream jet. And it was said when Henry II decided Iacocca had to go, he was assigned a desk in a warehouse with nothing to do--rather than fire him.
