Wayne .... do you know the details of the Y cable? Does it bring DI as well as 2D from the auxillary transducer or just the 2D?

It is stated in the description in post #1: Both cables have 2DDI in the model name.

    A transducer splitter cable is needed to do this. Use a 9 M360 2DDI Y (HELIX) (720107-1) or a 14 M360 2DDI Y (SOLIX) (720108-1) accessory cable.

Wayne, to use the M360 for SI, does your head unit need to be SI+ or will a DI+ work?

Either one. All the models are listed in the announcement notes in post #1339 in the 360 sticky topic.

This is a Helix 10 CHIRP MEGA DI+ GPS G3N with the MEGA 360 as the source for SI. Just took that screen shot yesterday.

Any pro's/cons to choosing a DI+ over SI+, if planning to use at the bow along with M360?

Con with a SI+ unit is the SI piezos in the SI transducer are not used. MEGA 360 replaces them. Extra cost for a function that can't be used.

Pro with a DI+ unit is lower cost and you still get SI.

Yes but the Mega 360 needs to be in the water to get that SI+ and that is only recommended up to 5 mph. I hope to use the SI+ ducer on the transom that is connected to the Helix 12 Mega SI+ G3N on the console above 5 mph. Don

If you connect both a MEGA 360 and a SI+ transducer to a SI+ unit via Y cable, it makes no difference where the SI transducer is located, you still won't have the use of the SI piezos.

Sorry the Mega 360 is connecting to the Bow Helix 12 Mega DI+ G3N CHO with a Y cable and the Mini Kota DI+ to the other side of the Y. The 10" Mega SI G2N on the bow is just used for trolling tracks and with a D2 view when pushing jigs for crappie. When bass fishing it runs SI. All 3 units are networked as is the two Garmin units. Now if they would just figure out how to network HB wit Garmin as they are both Eithernet. Don

In the GEN1 days you originally could get 360, SI and DI on a standard Sona unit, but Humminbird nerfed it with a firmware update, I have a sneaky feeling that a units functionality is controlled by the firmware smarts for SI DI and such can be done by all units with the right firmware.

I have read the installation manual online. It doesn't say anything about a heading sensor. Does the mega 360 not use a heading sensor? Will it still show Waypoints on the 360 screen?

It does not come with a heading sensor/GPS antenna like the 360 does.

You still need Heading to mark and display waypoints on the MEGA 360 view.
That can be done by adding the AS GPS HS antenna or if you have Minnkota with iPilot LINK you can use that as the source.

So the regular heading sensor for the i pilot cannot be used?

Minnkota iPilot LINK has a Heading Sensor IF you install it. The combo iPilot with its Bluetoothed Heading Sensor can be used for marking and viewing waypoints on the 360 view. HAS to be the LINK version to have the Ethernet connectivity so it can be shared.

OR the AS GPS HS can be the source for Heading:

Would having my m360 connected to the same power wiring as my Helix units cause this inference? Both my bow and console units show these vertical lines when my 360 is deployed. Thinking of installing direct wiring to the battery strictly for the 360 if this may solve my interference issue.

That looks like cross-talk between 2D sonar sources=bow 2D sonar and console 2D sonar.

But the DI view looks like cross-talk also which can be between MEGA 360 and MEGA DI.

That has nothing to do with power wiring, it's one sonar unit receiving sonar pulses from another sonar unit using the same frequency or a multiple of a frequency.

Turn the MEGA 360 power off when you see that again to verify if it is cross-talk source.
