i would like to see some pictures from member of BBC as I more believe I could get the same quality of image. I think these might be pictures from Humminbird. Still very interesting to see. Thanks

It may be December before that happens. That is when it is supposed to be available for purchase.

So if you have 1 Helix G3N SI unit and the Mega 360 you’ll have to get your SI data from the Mega 360.
a) Will you be getting SI+ or standard Mega capability?
b) Will the Image quality be as good using the Mega 360 for SI data as it would be using the supplied Mega+ Transducer?

Will????? Don't know since that has not been demonstrated by the pros that have them.

Just guessing:

A. The unit may still broadcast at the + power.

B.

Don't think that the MEGA 360 is as large as the length of a SI+ transducer (have not seen one in person), so the images wouldn't be as sharp. Longer piezos create a thinner Imaging pulse and sharper detail. You may not notice any difference. Guessing that the difference would be like between the Compact SI and HDSI transducers. Or using the current 360 for Side Imaging instead of a HDSI transducer.

Anyone know if the mount for the 360 will fit anything other than an Ultrex motor? I was thinking of getting the new Garmin Force instead of the Ultrex.

There are two mount types, the Ultrex bracket (bolt-on to match the bowguard threaded inserts) and the Fortrex shaft clamp.

Do you suppose that Garmin will have the attachment points for a Humminbird 360?

I doubt it, but after all the troubles I've had with the Fortrex mount I think I will be going with the Garmin trolling motor. That is unless Minn Kota ups their game with a better bracket and a brushless motor. Love their motor, but for the type of fishing I do the bracket can't take it. The Maxuum motor mount was great.

So this is very confusing I have a Ultrex without the the MDI duper (just) US2 with a MDI Helix 12 g2N . Would this unit support Mega 360 I am running a Helix 12 MSI G2N at console. Do I need to upgrade both or just one to get Mega 360?

No you cannot use the MEGA 360 with a G2N. You can share MEGA 360 from a G3N via Ethernet.

According to all the info in their FAQ .... That should work.

Correct, there is a MEGA SI+ G3N Helix 8.

Since the 8 Di is not a + unit .... it won't work with the Mega 360.

Based on the information from Humminbird in post 1, if you want to display 2D and mega 360 you’d need an additional mega transducer and Y cable to give you the 2D? Since they say a standard transducer like a US2 will not work. Or will the mega 360 transducer also provide 2D?

The MEGA 360 does 360 and SI, that's it.
If you want more sonar information, you need a Y cable and another transducer, either a 2D, DI, or MSI transducer. Makes no sense to get a MSI transducer since you cannot have SI from a SI transducer and SI/360 from the MEGA 360 connected at the same time.
If you have a G3N MEGA SI+ unit you can still use its transducer for 2D and DI, but not the SI from it.

A US2 does Dual Beam 2D sonar in 83/200 kHz or their CHIRP ranges. That is NOT HIGH WIDE CHIRP. The description specifically states HW CHIRP.
The Minnkota MDI transducer does do HW CHIRP. MDI is NOT US2.
