Water conditions are great, albeit very high. Fishing has been tough for me the few times I've been out. Fish are post spawn and scattered. Mayfly hatch is in full swing along with crazy boat traffic. Weekdays are definitely better for less pleasure boat traffic. Don't be afraid to throw top waters even in deeper water near the slicks of dead mayfly husks.

    Thanks for the information.

Post spawn can be a rough time to fish. I assume this weekend will be a madhouse out there. Just thankful to get my line in the water

There are canals near every launch. Is there a specific canal you’re asking about?

No, nothing specific because I’ve never fished them.
When I’m in town and go to St Clair I usually launch hall road down near the air base but I hear the largemouth is great near the canals at the mile roads.
So I wanted to try them out.

I wanted to give you all an update on my trip.

Had a great time on the main lake, not sure if I've ever caught so many fish in one day. I caught them mainly on the Canadian side in 13-16ft of water. The fish were extremely active. It was amazing watching fish fight over your jerkbait. The water was so clear you could actually see them hit your dropshot.

I fished both rivers and never did much good
