You are correct, half is for making the master and half for the master mold. As for cost it is relative since $300 is a lot more than a $35 Do-It mold but compared to a $5,000 Zorn mold it is cheap.Originally Posted by cidgrad

Pretty darn cheap compared to a production mold for injection plastics.
