Wondering if anyone has experience with Yamaha 25hp four stroke on this boat. Please refrain from telling me it needs a bigger motor. This is for a hp restricted lake. Etec 25 and Merc 25 work decent. Wondering if Yamaha would.

Your boat weighs a little over 1,000 pounds. I suspect getting it on plane at 18-20 mph with the 25 will be your goal. I have the new 25 on a Alumacraft Waterfowler 16 that weighs a little over 500 pounds. With my 200 lbs it does 25 mph gps.

Note if you have trim tabs, remove them. Porpoising will not be an issue and the tabs will knock off 1-2 mph

I meet a guy with the same thing only his was a 20' express with a 25Hp Yamaha, he said he could get up to around 16-18 but is was a really small lake and he really didnt need the speed, he just wanted a nice big boat for him and his wife to fish out of. it was a 2006 boat so I guess he had it from new and had it for sale, they had pulled the 25hp off and installed a 150hp on it when I looked at it
