What prop is on it now that's really low rpm's for that motor?

The prop is what came on the motor. The motor is brand new. Aluminum 3 blade 13.2 x 19.

Mercury's new Aluminum Spitfire 4 blade has been running well on many lower HP rigs... Offered in many pitch's. Probably need a 17P or less.

It the throttle opening all the way? 4700 seems awful low.

No need to be a smart ass. The man obviously doesn’t know. That’s why he asked.
There’s no use being stupid if you’re not willing to show it off.

So when the ? Was asked are you getting full throttle. Just because the hand throttle is going all the way down doesn’t mean the throttle is opening wide open in the motor may need to be adjusted or just checked to see its setting .4700 rpms is low rpms . there also could be something else going on that need s to be checked out by certified mech. 2 Nd are u you using trim intill it stops making mph or just guessing . As far as ss props go with a 90 hp motor stick with an Evinrude brand prop . If all checks out a ss prop will turn less rpms the same size as that alum prop your running then you will need to go smaller in pitch .

You would need to drop 2" in pitch with a SS prop to keep the same rpm's as the aluminum prop. I'd take it to the dealer or a mechanic and let them check if the throttle is opening all the way first. It would help to know what model boat you have.

Had the boat out again last evening. Trimmed the motor up and gained a few MPH and got the RPM up to 5200. The boat is riding smooth and gets on plane quickly and is hitting 43 MPH (GPS) at 5200 RPM. That is with 2 people and tackle

Did any one tell you that you have to trim the motor out after your on plane to increase the speed and rpm's. Try trimming it up until the prop slips or the bow starts porpoising then bump the trim back down. I'd run it a while loading like your going to use it before I bought a SS prop to make sure your getting the right one.

I have owned many boats before and the motor gets trimmed as I increase speed. Not a trim issue. Looking for options for a new prop.
