    721 ride better than 920?

I'd like to hear some from someone that's been or owned both.

Negligible enough that it’s all on who’s the driver. Can’t go wrong.

Owned both. I give the 721 a slight edge and I think it’s due to being longer and more narrow. Both are phenomenal riding boats though. Can’t go wrong either way.

My 721 actually rides better than my 921 did. Im not in big/rough water often and dont claim to be a good driver in big water. I can tell you my 721 cuts the waves better and lands softer for whatever reason. Ive hit a couple in the last few weeks i thought were going to hurt when i landed that didnt. My 721 rides a lot higher than my 921 did

The 721 is slightly longer than the 920 so it should ride a little better although both ride really well. I test drove both quite a bit before buying my PHX 21 and ride was my number one criteria for picking that model. All the Phoenix models carry the V much further back than more (like the Champions) and ride great. Lots of big water up here in the North and you see a ton of them up on the big lakes nows. Aside from the ride which is the most impressive thing about Phoenix, the handling and fishability of their 21-22' boats is unreal. You don't feel like you are in a big boat, they are nimble and carve turns and snake in and around docks like a much smaller boat.

Not butthurt, just couldn’t get over the ridiculousness of the opinion. Sometimes some of you 721 guys kill me. 921 is the only ride I’ve ever had in big waves that was better than a 920 or 721. When not in big waves on big water, there is no difference in ride. On big water and big waves, the difference is who’s azz is in the driver’s seat. Now maybe the 721 is more forgiving for inexperienced big water drivers? I don’t know. As I said in post #3, I believe the difference is negligible. But opinions are like a-holes in that they all stink. Drive em both and see what yours is. No way I would lay down that much money if I was undecided between the two without driving em.

Good friend of mine owns a 920, his fishing partner and myself own a 721 and he says the 721 rides better. He’s on his second 920 because they won’t let him get a prostaff deal on a 721 but that’s what he would get if he could. Believe that’s a pretty honest review from someone that has spent tons of time in both.

+1.... 721 = 20'11" vs. 920 = 20'6" and both have a 96" beam. I've spent plenty of time in both, and I'd buy my 920 again and again. The 721 is the corvette??? I've had plenty of 721's that can keep up, and many that could not, but to call it the corvette, then my expectation would be I was out handled and left behind, and that has never happened. Unless I have a factory freak, my 920 will run. Buddy has the same 920 set up I do and we consistently run within 1 mph of each other. Also I've had my 920 in BIG waves, and it handled them just fine. As txbass1 said, it all comes down to the driver.

I'm not knocking any owners, just stating facts. Drive all the models your interested in, and certainly purchase what fits in your budget. Be happy with it and let'r fly.

I came out of a 2017 stratos 201 and the Phoenix 721 that I have now “2019” is very similar, the difference being the stratos liked the motor ran low in the water as for the Phoenix it likes the motor ran high, speeds are same so Is handling, rough water they are close but I give the Phoenix the edge because it lands softer on impact and it’s 2” longer. Stratos 201 hull is 20’9” both great hulls though
