    Question 2005 225 HDPI WOT RPM's

    The manual states that the WOT max RPM should be 5,500 rpm's, but I hear a lot of people say they run theirs at 5,800-5,900. I am curious if that could shorten the lifespan of the motor (potentially make her spill her guts), or if running over the stated RPM's is standard. I even had a Yamaha dealer tell me he would run his at the 58-5900.

    I have my 2004 HPDI propped to 6000-6100 rpm.

    2003 Ranger 520 with 03 225 hpdi turning Yamaha T1 25 runs 6000 even.
